Garden turtle (13x10") inspired by Native American tradition of 28/13 scales: the moon orbits the earth in about 28 days, completing 13 cycles in a year, resulting in a 13-month calendar. Created by Edwin Gould, ceramicist and former Head Curator of Mammals, National Zoological Park at Smithsonian.
